In the weeks leading up to a wedding, I send out a questionnaire to my brides to learn a little more about their wedding day. Ashley sent me an email with some bad news - her father passed away unexpectedly in January, and there were a few things she wanted to add to the shot list and timeline. To honor his memory, she was planning on pinning her dad's wedding band to her garter, and wanted to release a single balloon after her first look with her groom. Her grandfather was going to walk her down the aisle and share a dance with her at the reception, and I was honored to capture those moments for her. Ashley and her girls got ready at the Hilton in Boca Raton on a breezy Saturday, February 21, 2015.
Meanwhile, Steven was hanging with his groomsmen at the Westchester Country Club, patiently waiting for a "first touch" with Ashley before she got in her dress.
Beth, Ashley's mom gave her the first diamond bracelet she received from her husband, and Ashley struggled to keep it together before the ceremony. I admit, I got a little teary too.
Since we had the time before the ceremony to do Ashley and Steven's portraits, we also photographed the wedding party and family formals so Ashley and Steven could enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests. As I was finishing up the family formals, I noticed little Fenix and his mom's hands perfectly framing his little face. I couldn't resist.
Oh Luciano. You slay me, kid.
