Last month, I blogged Part 1 of Kartik & Ruchi’s amazing two-day Indian engagement celebration in Sarasota and I figured IT’S ABOUT DANG TIME I show Part 2 to the world!
There’s not much I can add about my experience photographing this weekend, except this: The warmth, friendliness, love, (and food!) shown to me and my team that weekend in Sarasota is something I’ll never forget. This family knows how to throw a party, and I’m so grateful they chose me to document it. It’s always so nice to escape southeast Florida and get a small taste of the west coast, too.
Day two started with about an hour of family formals. I’ll admit, I was a bit hesitant to photograph such large groupings, but family members kept everything super organized, and the only annoying part were those dang love bugs. (Trust me, I photoshopped out hundreds of those pesky bugs!)
With views of downtown Sarasota as our backdrop, I had to pause a few times to remind myself how lucky I am to photograph such special events. We then had some time to photograph the bride and groom to be around the Westin Sarasota before their fabulous Indian engagement celebration.
TIME TO PARTY.
Much like a Sangeet, family and friends danced for the couple and shared a few heartfelt (and hilarious!) toasts. Kartik and Ruchi cut their cake and had their first dance before the dance floor was opened. This Indian engagement celebration was literally the loudest, most colorful party I’ve ever photographed. I think my ears are still ringing.
